In August 2021, Victoria ISD launched a new Letโs Talk chatbox feature on its website. The chatbox allows stakeholders an easy way to submit questions, comments, and other feedback to the district and receive a timely response. Since August, the district has received and responded to over 425 Letโs Talk messages.
Letโs Talk is a chatbox with interest areas stakeholders can select and submit their messages to. The messages are sent as an email to the appropriate department where they are viewed and a timely response is sent back to stakeholders. The chatbox, accessible on the districtโs homepage and campus websites, is available 24/7 for stakeholders to use.
Campus websites will now also have their own, individualized Letโs Talk Contact Us options that include three topic options: Email โCampus Nameโ; Parent & Family Engagement at โCampus Nameโ; and Attendance at โCampus Name.โ The Letโs Talk chatbox on each campus homepage will host the original topic options featured on Letโs Talk.
"Victoria ISD is committed to engaging in two-way communications with parents and stakeholders," said Ashley Scott, executive director of communications and public relations. "By launching individualized Let's Talk options for each campus, we are moving forward with providing yet another way for parents and guardians to communicate directly with their student's campus and receive timely responses."
The chatbox has stakeholders provide their contact information in order to receive a response. If one is uncomfortable, they can submit their message anonymously but must provide an email if they wish to receive a response.
Now, if stakeholders have questions pertaining to specific campuses, they can go to the campus website and submit their questions in the Letโs Talk Contact Us option on that campusโ site.
Stakeholders can submit questions regarding bus routes, school times, after-school programs, and more. Feedback on how the district or campuses are doing or suggestions on what it can do better can be submitted. If necessary, bullying, harassment, or any other safety issues can also be reported using the chatbox.
