Open House is the best time for families to connect with teachers, tour classrooms, and get a clear picture of the year ahead. When parents/guardians attend, students do better because everyone is aligned on expectations, routines, and support.
In addition to walking their child’s schedule and meeting each teacher, parents/guardians will also hear how campuses are putting districtwide priorities into action this school year. Teachers and staff will share how the Citizenship Ready Plan and the 10 VISD Values are being integrated into daily lessons and campus culture, as well as how the Showing Up for Excellence attendance initiative is helping keep students on track. Parents will have the opportunity to learn more about these efforts, see how they are already being implemented, and understand how they support student success.
Families can also expect to hear about classroom routines, grading and attendance expectations, safety procedures, communication tools, curriculum highlights, assessments, and ways to support learning at home.
