Event Set for January 8 at Victoria West High School Auditorium
Victoria ISD will host a Pathways in Technology Early College High School and Freshman 2 Freshman Recruiting Event on Wednesday, January 8, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Victoria West High School Auditorium. The event is open to all current 8th-grade students, including those from private schools and homeschools, who will attend a VISD high school for the 2026โ27 school year.
The recruiting event will include student presentations from current P-TECH and dual credit participants, along with breakout sessions where families can complete program applications and interest forms. The purpose of the event is to provide families with information about early college pathways, industry certifications, and dual credit opportunities available through VISD.
P-TECH provides students with a supported pathway from high school to high-demand careers. Students may earn industry-recognized certifications, participate in workplace learning, and complete up to 60 hours of tuition-free college credit, depending on their selected pathway. VISD currently offers pathways in Healthcare, Engineering, Computer Science, and Education & Training.
Freshman 2 Freshman is VISDโs early college dual credit initiative that allows students to begin earning college credit as early as 9th grade. Through a partnership with Victoria College, students can take aligned coursework that supports their future majors and career pathways while reducing the overall cost of college.
